Reproduction Boiserie Period Rooms at the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art
Laurie Ossman was co-author on the assessment and study of the French Boiserie rooms taken from a chateau, modified and installed at an Astor mansion in Manhattan, and then removed and reconstructed in the museum. The in-depth study sought to identify the materials from each period of construction, their original design and finish, and determine means to clean, restore them in the current gallery. Laurie focused on the history of the panelling as it passed through the hands of dealers and decorators before arriving in Sarasota. The paper was presented at the American Institute for Conservation Annual Meeting in 2025 and published in the post-scripts of the Paintings Specialty Group.
