RHODE ISLAND STATE HOUSE

INDEPENDENT MAN SCULPTURE RESTORATION

Proudly working for our home state of Rhode Island, we collaborated on the restoration of the Iconic Independent Man figure who stands atop the State House Capitol Building. Together with our long-term partner, Evergreene Architectural Arts , DBVW Architects and East Coast Masonry we assessed, documented, planned and implemented the removal, restoration, and regilding of the iconic figure from atop the Mckim, Mead & White dome in Providence RI. The 14 1/2 ft tall bronze, cast by the Gorham Foundry in Providence, was electroplated and fully gold leafed. The restored figure was reinstalled atop the marble dome on December 18, 2024 on the 125th anniversary of its first installation.

The project received a Rhody Award from Preserve Rhode Island in 2025
